2D Artist (Contract, Remote)

Magic Notion are looking for an experienced senior level 2D artist to work with us on Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker Makeover, the fabulous remaster to Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker which is celebrating it’s 10-year anniversary!

We’re looking for people who are talented, hard-working and able to manage their time effectively. As we’re a completely remote-working studio, good communication and availability is essential.

Being a small independent team, you will be expected to be somewhat flexible and able to switch focus at a relatively short notice.

Required Technical Skills

• Experience using Photoshop to create shippable quality 2D assets.

• Experience creating art assets for games software.

• Experience of 2D character, UI and environment art, both concept and production.

• Ability to adapt to and execute our product’s illustrative 2D style to an excellent standard.

• 3+ years of industry experience, with at least one shipped title.

Desired Technical Skills

• Use of asset management software (such as SVN).

• Understanding of cross-platform development, including iOS, Android and Desktop.

• Knowledge of other discipline’s workflows and pipelines.

• Use of Miro.

• Use of Unity a big plus.

Personal Skills

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

• Comfortable proposing new solutions and ideas.

• Comfortable taking direction.

• Strong problem solving skills.

• Able to work in a self-directed and autonomous manner.

Please Note: We are based in the UK and most of the team work in the GMT/BST timezone. As a fully-remote studio, we will consider applications from anywhere, but the successful candidate will need to be available in our core hours to sync up with other team members.
